The majority of vacancies available are for part-time
retail staff - particularly in our local food stores. Some of these positions
can give people the first step on the ladder to retail management. This
is because all our food stores have Duty Managers - many of whom are part-time,
working a few days a week or doing specific shifts, such as evenings or
weekends.
Applications for Duty Management positions are always welcome from anyone who is able to take responsibility and likes to use their initiative in problem solving, planning and decision making. There is a comprehensive Duty Management Training Programme to support people and give them the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake the role successfully. We are also always interested to hear from individuals
who are experienced in food store management and who wish to progress
their career as a store manager, department head or duty manager.
